Terms of Service — Your Roomie

Welcome to Your Roomie. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Your Roomie mobile application (the "App") operated by Workstyle Media ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years old to use Your Roomie. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into these Terms.

2. YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
You agree to provide accurate, truthful information in your profile.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
One person, one account. Do not impersonate others or create fake profiles.

3. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES & CODE OF CONDUCT

To keep Your Roomie safe and welcoming, you agree that you will NOT:

Discriminate against others based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected grounds
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or information
Share other users' private information without their consent
Use the App for any illegal purpose
Solicit money or engage in scams
Post explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content

Violation of these guidelines may result in immediate account suspension or removal.

4. SAFETY & MEETING OTHER USERS

Your Roomie is a platform to connect people. We do not conduct background checks beyond optional identity verification, and we do not guarantee the conduct of any user.

You agree to:

Meet potential roommates in safe, public places first
Exercise caution and good judgment when sharing personal information
Take responsibility for your own safety when meeting or living with others

Your Roomie is not responsible for the actions, conduct, or agreements made between users, including any rental or roommate arrangements.

5. RENTALS & ROOMMATE ARRANGEMENTS

Your Roomie is a matching and communication platform only. We are not a party to any lease, rental agreement, or roommate arrangement made between users. We do not:

Own, manage, or inspect any listed properties
Guarantee the accuracy of listings
Handle rent payments, deposits, or lease agreements between users

Any agreements you make with other users are solely between you and them.

6. PAYMENTS & SUBSCRIPTIONS

Your Roomie is free to download and use with basic features.
Optional paid features include Pro subscriptions and credit purchases.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Pro subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Credits are one-time purchases and are non-refundable.
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and may change with notice.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The App, including its design, logo, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Workstyle Media and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a licence to display it within the App as part of the service.

8. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in behaviour that harms other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time through the App.

9. DISCLAIMERS

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

That you will find a roommate or rental
The accuracy of any user's profile or listing
Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Your Roomie and Workstyle Media are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including disputes between users, rental arrangements, or personal safety incidents.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.

12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
